Rafael Justiz, MD, is the president and medical director of Oklahoma Pain Physicians in Oklahoma City, Purcell, and Norman, Oklahoma. Dr. Justiz is fellowship-trained and board-certified in anesthesiology, interventional pain management, and sports medicine. He treats a wide range of conditions, from neck, head and back pain, to more chronic pain disorders

Dr. Justiz received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science, with honors, in health education from Florida International University in Miami. He went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Dr. Justiz finished both his internship in internal medicine and residency in anesthesiology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa. He furthered his studies with an interventional pain management fellowship at the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock.

Dr. Justiz remained at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center as an assistant professor in the department of anesthesiology, where he trained over 20 physicians. During his time there, he received multiple awards, including Faculty of the Year in both anesthesia and pain management, and the Letter of Commendation for Research and Teaching Award.

Board-certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Justiz also holds a subspecialty certification in pain medicine. He also holds pain medicine board certification from the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians and the World Institute of Pain, and a sports medicine board certification from the American College of Sports Medicine.

Dr. Justiz is the president and CEO of the Oklahoma Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the regional vice-chair for the World Institute of Pain for the United States, and on the board of directors of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

He shares his expert knowledge on topics of pain management treatments and research at conferences and universities. He has published several medical journal articles and book chapters on his particular interest in furthering the field of pain treatment solutions.

Dr. Justiz is a pain management consultant and speaker for St. Jude Medical Neuromodulation Division, as well as Anulex Technologies and Epimed International. Dr. Justiz also serves as a clinical associate professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

Dr. Justiz sees adult patients suffering from a broad range of pain, from the more minor neck, shoulder, head, or hip pain, to chronic pain disorders.

Dr. Justiz received her Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Wauwatosa and completed her residency in anesthesiology at the University of South Florida in Tampa. She holds affiliation with multiple Oklahoma hospitals, including Integris Baptist Medical Center and Oklahoma Heart Hospital, both in Oklahoma City, and Purcell Municipal Hospital. Dr. Justiz holds medical licenses in the states of Oklahoma, Texas, and Florida, and is board-certified in anesthesiology from the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Justiz is passionate about communicating clearly with patients, with thorough examinations and explanations of potential treatments. Her specialty in pain management allows her to always be at the forefront of the latest minimally invasive procedures. Her experience in anesthesiology assures patients the most pain-free journey with any treatment option.
